A few mornings ago, bright and early as I sipped on my juice, I was listening to a detailed explanation of an ayat from Surah Al-Mulk. Gosh, I forgot how much I loved that surah. I think I've spoken about this once in the past but when I heard the reminder it felt like I was listening to it for the first time and it was real naissssss.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm always put at ease when I'm reminded that Allah swt isn't looking for perfection, but simply improvements and realistic progress within ourselves.
'Exalted is He who holds all control in His hands; who has power over all things; Who created death and life, so that he may test to see which of you is better––He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.' (67: 1 - 2)
There is a difference between being the best and being better than yesterday. And He is looking to the latter for us. I guess it's about continuously making an effort to improve on being the better version of themselves.
And my teacher was reminding me that it helps to know our priorities in our every day life. This will help us in figuring out what needs more time over other things.
So always have it at the back of our minds that perfection is not the goal, but progression. And undoubtedly, Allah swt is there to help us get there, so long as we put in the effort. He will grant us the ability and ease to do make it happen.
This positivity and hope that is repeated in the Quran; that's a special kind of sunshine I'd love to for all of us to be under always. :)
